Growing like a weed...

David has been playing in his exersaucer and having a great time, so I thought I would share a few pictures. He started out needing to be propped up with a pillow or a blanket, but now he does great spinning around and entertaining himself with all the toys. He has alot of fun with it.

Yes, I am a sales person's dream come true.

The title being the opinion of my husband, I must admit it is true. Walking into Target today to pick up David's pictures, I was offered an additional package deal which I purchased. The salesperson quipped, "That was easy!" ... uhhh... yes. Yes I am... here's "the rest of the story."

The first Sunday of June, Chris was in an accident, and to make a long story short, our truck which we had purchased in December was totaled. Carolyn and TC graciously loaned us their car in the interim while we decided what to do.
We searched online for cars and did a lot of research on what to buy to replace the truck. We decided that we would spend the day test driving cars and that we would absolutely NOT buy anything without going home to sleep on it...
We sat down with the salesperson, Charlie, at Chapel Hills Saturn- our first stop. We talked about what we were looking for, and he said he had the perfect car for us, and that he could bring it up from the other dealership in an hour for us to test drive.
As we walked out of the dealership to go piddle around for the hour, Chris said, "You know you just bought a car. You are a salesperson's dream come true! You will buy anything!" I promptly replied that he was incorrect...

ummm... why yes, we did buy it- why do you ask?

Father's Day 2009

Chris and David's first Father's Day together was also our anniversary. We have been married six years and have been together for 9 years. The time does pass quickly!
We went on a family hike up Mt. Cutler. David was alert all the way up the mountain- he had fun looking around and seeing things he had never seen before. We saw a chipmunk who was pretty friendly, so Chris fed him sunflower seeds. We had a great time. The weather was perfect!

I think the way the sun was shining down on them was quite striking- and it's great that you can see the sun's rays in the photos as well!

I love the Colorado blue sky! Makes me want to get out my oils and paint!

David Michael at 3 months

These were taken on his 3 month birthday. I was very happy with the photographer- she was really easy to work with and fun. I thought she was great!

This gorgeous blanket was given to us by Sharon, Chris's step mom. I love it! We were very surprised when it arrived. It came just in time for his portraits!

I liked how she added the special effects.

This might be my favorite! It's hard to choose...
or maybe this one below!

His feet are so cute! He really loves to curl his toes and arch his feet. When he was born, Chris and I made a cast of his footprint and it was really hard to get it to come out because of that!

Doin' Deals in Parking Lots

Mmmm... raw milk. Not pasteurized. Not homogenized. Straight from the animal. Since it's illegal to purchase raw milk in the state of Colorado, you have to go around the law to get your goods... you must purchase a share in a cow or goat and then you technically own the milk since you own the animal. I find the whole menagerie quite entertaining since raw milk is one of the best things to do for your health and it's illegal to purchase it or to sell it- yet I can go purchase cigarettes and alcohol legally... hmmm...so I pick up my raw milk in a hospital parking lot. Yes, in case you're wondering, that is my terrible kitchen tile in the background. My kitchen needs remodeled. Maybe I should sell some of my goats!

Life is ironic...

So today, after saying forever that my dogs are my family, etc. we are adopting them out. We are keeping Cindy and Eve because Chris can train them to be/do what we want. The huskies are going to another home because they are un-trainable... or perhaps we don't want to put the time into them. I can't even say I'm going to miss them. Maybe I will, but I doubt it. The ironic thing is that we are doing this at all. It seems like many of the things I said I would "never" do or was particularly judgmental about, I am doing... I do love the huskies, but since David joined the family or more aptly put- made us a family, I don't have the patience for them anymore. Teresa said I would feel different about my dogs once David was born, and I was sure she was wrong. Now, I'm just hoping their new family will love them and be patient with all their quirks and idiosyncrasies. So here begins a new chapter in life.

Mommy thoughts

I love being a mommy. I never thought I would enjoy it so much. David is almost 3 months old and it seems crazy that three months have passed by so fast. I am sometimes overwhelmed with how cute he is and how blessed I am to have him! I have decided to chronicle our family life on this blog to keep family/friends informed of our goings on.
