Hello There World!
Just realized that it has been 2 years or more since I posted.  Going to work at doing this blog thing more often.

Just Waking Up

Every morning, David wakes up, gets a clean diaper and clean clothes.  He gets his bottle of (goat) milk and walks around in a pokey kind of way to wake up.  It is very cute!  He isn't ready for breakfast or anything else until after he has a bottle or two of his milk- I think it's coffee for toddlers!

Just Monkeying Around

I have had this panel for a while
to make David a soft book.
I wasn't sure how I wanted to put it together, and Naomi and I discussed ideas when she was at my house Saturday morning.  Saturday afternoon, we spent time with one of our clients, Barb, who shared a soft book with David while we were there.  I loved it so much, she let me take pictures of it.  It was just the inspiration I needed to get this done for David.  Thanks Barb!
I matched the left side with the story to underscore the counting theme.
The faces under the zipper took me a while, I had a hard time deciding what to do with the number four.
The buttons can be unbuttoned also for when he gets a little more inquisitive.
I wanted two mittens to match the theme, and my hands were too big.  So these mittens are the trace of David's hands!  Unfortunately, the openings are too little for him to squeeze his hands into even with the seam allowance I added-  but the idea is adorable.
I am going to make him
a little monkey to fit in that pocket.
There just aren't enough hours in the day today.

Random Pictures of Daily Life

David likes to cuddle with Eve. She is good with him, and very patient.
I'm not sure I would be happy about him poking me in the eye or pulling at my mouth, but it all qualifies as extra pets to her, so she doesn't mind.  He goes up to her and gives her hugs, which is really cute, but I never seem to have a camera in my hand when he does that.

David really likes his play area in his room.
He is good at entertaining himself.

He enjoys his "lift the flap" books a lot recently.

I taught him how to get out of bed safely, but the other morning he was feeling particularly lounge-y so I snapped these pictures.

Mother's Day 2010

On Mother's Day, we went to the Royal Gorge with my friend Teresa and her family.
David had a really great time. It was very windy, but warm, so the wind didn't bother us much.
Here we are on the bridge.
I had a really difficult time not running over the speed limit.
I am such an efficient runner, it was hard to hold back.
David makes Mother's Day wonderful!
It was a lovely day!

We had brunch at the Golden Corral.
I lovingly refer to it as the Golden Trough.
I don't really like buffets, but going to one on the busiest restaurant day of the year at least ensures that the food is fresh. We went to brunch for the company- which was fabulous!
Teresa's family is very nice to us, and we feel welcome and loved!
David is a treasure to share!
A couple stopped me outside after brunch to tell me that their elderly mother so enjoyed watching David during her meal, and that he was the highlight of her day!

Yarn!

I haven't posted for a while, so I thought I would share about some stranger generosity I received. On Saturday, my friend Kathy invited David and me to go with her and some friends to the Great Western Alpaca Show. We were taking a break, and David was walking around a little bit. One of the vendors was watching him and commented on how adorable he is. When we got up from our table to continue our adventure, she came up to me and gave me this yarn because she thought it would be wonderful on him! How sweet is that? Now I need to figure out what to make!

David's Birthday Sweater (in Progress)

I still need to put on the button bands, collar, and embroidery, but it is coming along!

I think David wanted to call Daddy and tell him about his sweater!
When I took the sweater off of him to get him ready for bed,
he held it up to his face and cuddled it. It was so cute!
So far, I think it is pretty cute! (I better hurry up!)
